We have a brilliant opportunity for an experienced HR & Payroll Specialist to join our team. This is a newly created role that provides a unique opportunity for someone who is looking for a challenging and rewarding role.

About the Role

The HR & Payroll Specialist is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides HR and Payroll support to our clients. You will be a key member of the leadership team, and provide strategic and specialist advice to the Managing Director to support business performance. Activities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide specialist advice on HR matters, including award interpretation and IR matters
  • Develop HR documents (contracts, job descriptions, employee handbooks, policies & procedures)
  • Recommend and manage the implementation of HRIS, payroll systems and processes
  • First point of contact on payroll processing matters
  • Provide training on payroll systems
  • Set up and run payroll as required
  • Onboard new clients for payroll and HR Support
  • Keep the team current and trained on legislation updates, key deliverables, and process changes
  • Recruitment support as required

Skills & Experience

  • HR professional, with tertiary qualifications and relevant experience (essential)
  • Hands on experience with small business or start-ups (desired)
  • Hands on experience with payroll processes including superannuation, LSL, and payroll tax
  • Experience interpreting Enterprise Agreements & Industry Awards (Building and Construction Award)
  • Working knowledge of Fair Work, NES, Enterprise Agreements and Flexibility Agreements
  • Demonstrated experience implementing payroll system and processes
  • Experience as a payroll auditor (ideal)
