The following details on the business support grants for trade & construction businesses are based on the information that we currently have available.  Information on eligibility and availability is still pending.  The page will be updated as new information becomes available.

Covid Business Support Grant

Eligibility

  • Annual Payroll up to $10 million as at 1 July 2020
  • Maintain your employee headcount as at 13 July 2021 for period of the grant
  • Have active ABN registered in NSW 
  • Demonstrate your business was operating in NSW as at 1 June 2021
  • Aggregated annual turnover  between above $75,000 & $50 million for year ended 30 June 2020
  • Have business costs for which there was no other government support available.

Rebate

  • One-off payment of:
    • $7,500 for a decline of 30% or more
    • $10,500 for a decline of 50% or more
    • $15,000 for a decline of 70% or more.

Assessment

  • Compare turnover for minimum two week period from 26 June 2021 to 17 July 2021 compared to the same period in 2019.
  • Southern Border businesses the dates are 27 May 2021 to 17 July 2021 compared to the same period in 2019.

Saving Jobs Cashflow Payments

Eligibility

  • 30% decline for 2 week period from 26 June 2021, compared to same 2 week period in 2019 (uses GST reporting method)
  • Have an ABN as at 1 June 2021.
  • Annual turnover between $75,000 and $50 million
  • Maintain employee headcount from 13 July 2021 (employees that are stood down or are on leave without pay, count in the headcount)
  • If non employing business then need to demonstrate this is primary income source.
  • Non employing business cannot claim Job Saver and Covid Disaster payment.
  • Weekly payroll based on BAS prior to 26 June 2021.
 

Rebate

  • $1,500 min to maximum $10,000 per week for businesses
  • Up to 40% of payroll payments
  • Non employing businesses $1,000 per week

Assessment

  • Minimum 2 week period from 26 June 2021 – 30 July 2021 (or when lockdown ends), compared to same 2 week period in 2019 (uses GST reporting method)

Micro business grant

Eligibility

  • ABN
  • Operating in NSW as at 1 June 2021
  • Small businesses & sole traders
  • Annual turnover between $30,000 and $75,000
  • 30% decline in turnover over minimum 2 week period commencing 26 June 2021 – 30 July 2021.
  • Maintain employee head count as at 13 July 2021.
  • Primary income source to person associated with business
  • Cannot have registered for Covid Disaster Payment or Job Saver Grant
 

Rebate

  • $1,500 per fortnight

  • Minimum 2 week period from 26 June 2021 – 30 July 2021 (or when lockdown ends), compared to same 2 week period in 2019 (uses GST reporting method)

Payroll Tax concessions
(NSW)

Eligibility

  • Wages between $1.2 million and $10 million
  • 30% decline in turnover (for concessions)

Rebate

  • 25% waiver for 2021-22 payroll tax

    • Reduction in payroll tax to 4.85% for 2020/21 & 2021/22 financial year.
    • Payroll tax deferrals until 7 October 2021 for annual returns and wages paid in July and August for any business paying payroll tax.
    • Interest-free payment plans for up to 12 months are also available.
Small business fees and charges
(NSW)

Eligibility

  • Small business & sole traders
  • total wages below $1.2 million
  • have an ABN registered in NSW

Rebate

  • Up to $1,500 rebate for NSW Government expenses from 1 March 2021

  • $1,500 rebate for residential (based on rent reduction)
  • 60 day freeze on evictions

Land tax concessions

  • Concession for commerical, retail and residential landlords equivalent to rent reduction up to 100% of 2021 land tax liability
Individual Assistance
  • Rebate
  • $375 lost either
    • between 8 and less than 20 hours per week
    • a full day of your usual work hours per week
  • $600 if you lost 20 hours or more of work per week
